Easy Lemon Chicken Breasts
This impressively easy and delicious meal comes together so quickly, you’ll want to start any accompaniments (e.g. a starch or veggies) before you cook the chicken. In this recipe, Chica Licka Garlic and Herb seasoning does double duty, seasoning the breasts and infuses a simple buttery pan sauce with tremendous flavor. A bright hit of lemon perks up the herbs and holds its own against mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, or rice.

Feel free to swap in boneless skinless chicken thighs for the breasts, just note the dark meat will need a few additional minutes to cook.
Ingredients
-
4 skinless boneless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
-
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Chica Licka Garlic & Herb
-
½ cup flour for dredging
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 medium shallot, finely chopped (or ¼ cup chopped red onion)
-
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
-
3 tablespoons lemon juice
-
½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Directions
Evenly season the chicken with Chica Licka Garlic & Herb and then dredge them in flour; remove excess flour and transfer to a plate.
Heat the oil over medium heat in a heavy skillet large enough to hold the chicken pieces in one layer. When the oil is shimmering and hot, add chicken and cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Flip the chicken and cook for 5 minutes more, or until cooked through. Scatter the shallots around the chicken and cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes.
Add the lemon zest, juice, and broth, and then use a wooden spoon to scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the butter and cook for an additional 3 minutes, gently stirring to combine in ingredients and pull the sauce together.
Serve the chicken drizzled with the pan sauce, alongside mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice and your favorite vegetable.
