Cook Time
5-10 minutes
We love to fry the cheese sticks in a cast iron skillet, but a countertop fryer works great as well. The cheese sticks are best served immediately after cooking, but you can also hold them in a 250-degree oven for up to one hour.
Ingredients
-
18 mozzarella sticks
-
1 cup buttermilk
-
1 egg
-
1 box Crunchy Ranch Crispy Coating Mix
Directions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg. Pour the Crunchy Ranch dry mix in a separate shallow bowl.
Working in batches, use one hand to dip the cheese sticks into the buttermilk mixture, allow excess liquid to drain, then use your other hand to roll in the dry mix until well coated; repeat process, giving the cheese a second dip in the wet and dry mixtures.
Fry in 350℉ vegetable oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Using a spider strainer or tongs, transfer to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain. Repeat with the remaining cheese sticks. Serve warm with your favorite condiments (may we suggest marinara sauce or our Rodeo Ranch Dressing?).
