Smoked Cream Cheese Dip with Sweet Preacher

With just a bit of Southern spice, smoke and heat, you can transform an ordinary block of cream cheese into a shimmering, sweet and savory appetizer.
Smoked Cream Cheese Dip with Southern Spices

Funny enough, the most challenging part of this recipe is removing the block of cream cheese from its foil packaging! Do yourself a favor and throw the unopened package in the freezer for up to 30 minutes before so the block is easy to work with.
Also, you can easily sub out Sweet Preacher with any of our other delicious spice blends. Every flavor works with this recipe and brings something new to the table. Hell, smoke a couple while you’re at it (we did.)

8 oz block of cream cheese
-
Sweet Preacher Pork Rub
-
Green onion (optional, for topping)
-
Your favorite hearty crackers, like Triscuits or Wheat Thins
Directions
Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
Carefully unwrap cream cheese block and place on a small sheet pan.
Generously season block with Sweet Preacher.
Over indirect heat, place the pan in the smoker and smoke with fruitwood for 30-45 minutes, or until the blocks are slightly darkened, cracked and glistening.
Remove pan, allow smoked block to cool and transfer to a serving dish. Optionally top with thinly sliced green onion.
Serve with your favorite crackers or cover and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
