Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs

These bacon cheeseburger bombs are essentially a hand pie loaded with a juicy, savory beef and cheese filling. To avoid all that goodness oozing out on the pan while baking, make sure to seal the bombs up very well, and place the seam-side on the bottom of each bomb.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1-2 tbsp Burger Royale seasoning
6 oz bacon, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 jalapeno, diced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp F&S Original BBQ Sauce
8 oz American cheese, shredded
8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Directions

In a small bowl, mix together the Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and BBQ sauce. Place the sauce in the refrigerator to chill.
In a skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet, reserving 1-2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan. Set the bacon aside.
In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion and jalapeno until they are partially caramelized. Set them aside.
In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Sear the block of beef on both sides to enhance the flavor. Once seared, sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of Burger Royale Seasoning over the beef. Break up and cook the beef until fully cooked through.
Add the cooked bacon, sautéed onion and jalapeno, sauce mixture, and half of the shredded American cheese to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 9 equal-sized squares.
Spoon 3-4 heaping spoonfuls of the bacon cheeseburger mixture onto each pastry square. Add a bit of shredded American cheese on top of the mixture.
Fold up the corners of each pastry square and shape them into balls, ensuring the filling is sealed inside.
Place the prepared balls on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon cheeseburger bombs are golden brown and cooked through.

These are to die for!!! I have tried them with the puff pastry and those Pillsbury croissant in a can things…bomb no matter what the wrapping!!

Just made this, they’re in the oven now! I’m so excited to try! I had quite a bit of mixture left over, because I doubled the recipe for company that ended up unable to come to dinner… can the leftover mixture be frozen and used later?

Just finished eating two of these bad boys. Fun to make and really tasty. Used the video only looked at the recipe to find baking temp! Really appreciate the I got a long way without having to look at/up a recipe all the time. Thanks for posting!

I think I’ll use wonton wrapsnext time, it maybe abit easier to contain mix.Also,you show in video placing a cube of jack (white)cheese inside and in the recipe you don’t call it out to add. Other than that, the mixture is really good. They’re baking now! Smells yummy

Hot d@mn, a wonton version sounds amazing. Let us know how it turns out if you try it! When we transcribed the recipe from Jordan’s video, we did decide to suggest shredded cheese instead of the cubes. We thought it might be more melty and cheesy. Feel free to experiment with any cheese you like!
